Maryland HB 1436/SB 967 require private businesses to install video cameras - unfavorable in Senate

HB 1436, sponsored by Delegate Swain, requires all "retail service station dealers" to maintain at least one operational video camera, record the activity, and retain the activity.

(A) EACH RETAIL SERVICE STATION DEALER SHALL:

(1) MAINTAIN AT LEAST ONE OPERATIONAL VIDEO CAMERA ON THE EXTERIOR PREMISES OF THE SERVICE STATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECORDING ILLEGAL ACTIVITY; AND…
